Guarantors for the Ontario Seniors Dental Care Program

Guarantors for the Ontario Seniors Dental Care Program

Ontario Seniors Dental Care Program is a public dental program that provides free, routine dental care for seniors aged 65 and over.

Coverage includes:

-       Dental examinations

-       Cleanings

-       X-rays

-       Fillings

-       Simple extractions

-       Partial dentures

-       Oral surgery

-       Periodontal services

-       Endodontic services

To qualify for this program, one must be:

-       A resident of Ontario

-       At least 65 years old

-       Have a single senior's yearly net earnings of $22,000 or less, or a combined couple's earnings of $37,100 or less.

-       Not currently enrolled in another dental program such as Ontario Works, or private insurance

-       Having a Social Insurance Number or a Temporary Taxation Number (TTN)

While most of these requirements are easy to meet, the last one may pose a challenge for some seniors. If you do not have a SIN or TTN, you can have someone act as your guarantor.
